Greetings to all, let us thank God for today and be receptive to what He has to say to us in His word. May the Lord God open our eyes and ears to see and hear the instructions and the goodness that He has left for each of us. Amen
I know that we all want to see and feel the presence of God every day in our lives. Many days we often find ourselves struggling with one thing or another. It may be our faith, health, relationships, or just a lack of direction.
God's Spirit will lead, guide, and teach us. We must open and use the most powerful tool and weapon, His word, living and active. It has always been God's desire to get a message to His people about His plans for us and about who He is.
Hebrews 1:1-2 (GW)
1 In the past, God spoke to our ancestors at many different times and in many different ways through the prophets.
2 In these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God made his Son responsible for everything. His Son is the one through whom God made the universe.
God sent one last mail carrier or messenger from Heaven to give His people the whole message. It was Jesus, who often disapproved of the attitude of the people of His time. It is not just to individuals, but the churches and the entire world.
Revelation 2:29 (NLT2)
29 "Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
In the scriptures, Revelations, chapters 2 and 3, God told the Apostle John to write letters to the seven churches. These churches were dealing with some of the same situations and challenges that our current churches today face.
Ephesus: The loveless church
Smyrna: The persecuted church
Pergamos: The compromising church
Thyatira: The corrupt church
Sardis: The dead church
Philadelphia: The faithful church
Laodicea: The lukewarm church
Revelation 1:19 (NLT2)
19 "Write down what you have seen—both the things that are now happening and the things that will happen.
The warning message that revealed the churches' problems was necessary for Apostle John's generation and future churches; they are still needed today for us as well; we are the church.
God wanted them, and He wants us to get it right.
Psalm 139:23-24 (MSG)
23 Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about;
24 See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong— then guide me on the road to eternal life.
Lesson: We can say today that God has his own private Heavenly postal service, and He is still sending messages/mail from Heaven every day.
Unlike the problems that we face today with our postal service mail delivery, God's heavenly post office uses the most unlikely and ordinary messengers to deliver on-time messages every day.
We have no excuses for not knowing God's plan. Have you checked lately? "We've Got Mail"!
