Greetings to all, on this Sunday, may we consider the power of our tongues and use our words to build up and edify.
Since life and death are in the tongue God desires, as Christians, we use our tongues to set the church on fire by speaking life to those we encounter. He doesn't want us to use them as deadly and evil weapons, speaking death, gossiping, and slandering others.
Proverbs 13:3 (GNB)
3 Be careful what you say and protect your life. A careless talker destroys himself.
James 3:5–6 (GNB)
5 So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things. Just think how large a forest can be set on fire by a tiny flame!
6 And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself.
Lesson: What we say can be dangerous when communicated carelessly about others. Hellfire is burning and waiting, so let us consider our tongues and put out its destructive flames.
