Greetings to all. As we move forward, let us release offenses that cause bitterness to grow in our hearts.
Some things we are expected to do in life can be easier said than done. Kindness can be difficult, especially when we hold onto unforgiveness. Breaking free from bitterness and embracing forgiveness is a powerful act of freedom, enabling us to release the bitterness toward those who have caused us harm.
Ephesians 4:31–32 (KJV 1900)
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Lesson: As Joanna Weaver notes, "Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” To overcome bitterness, we must first recognize it within ourselves and then intentionally choose forgiveness to release it.
