Greetings to all, on this Sunday, let us serve the Lord with gladness because we know that we are His. May He continue to bless us, watch over us, and may He give each of us peace as we follow Him. Amen

Psalm 100:2-3 (GW)

2 Serve the LORD cheerfully. Come into his presence with a joyful song.

3 Realize that the LORD alone is God. He made us, and we are his. We are his people and the sheep in his care.

Everyone wants to feel that they have a connection to someone or something. However, sometimes we must relinquish our selfish desires if we genuinely want to have a healthy connection or relationship with others.

Preparing this post made me think of the toddler's creed, a poem used to prepare teachers and parents for the stage when toddlers start selfishly grabbing everything and claiming it's mine, mine, mine. It goes like this:

"If I want it, it's mine. If I give it to you and I change my mind later, it's mine. If I can take it away from you, it's mine. If it's mine, it will never belong to anybody else, no matter what. If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine. If it looks like mine, it is mine."

What a blessing it is that we belong to God. He calls us His sheep!

Isaiah 40:11 (GW)

11 Like a shepherd, he takes care of his flock. He gathers the lambs in his arms. He carries them in his arms. He gently helps the sheep and their lambs.

Unlike the toddler's selfish motives, when God declares that something is Mine, He has genuine motives, and he intends to shower us with His love.

When we are hurting, lost, or when we end up going astray, our Shepherd is the first to see our needs, and He is forever listening, and most importantly, He loves us without judgment.

Unfortunately, we still have people today, just like the Jews during Jesus's time on earth, who still don't believe who He is and who they are to Him.

John 10:25-30 (HCSB)

25 "I did tell you, and you don't believe," Jesus answered them. "The works that I do in My Father's name testify about Me.

26 But you don't believe because you are not My sheep.

27 My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.

29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

30 The Father and I are one."

Malachi 3:16-17 (MSG)

16 Then those whose lives honored GOD got together and talked it over. GOD saw what they were doing and listened in. A book was opened in God's presence and minutes were taken of the meeting, with the names of the GOD-fearers written down, all the names of those who honored GOD's name.

17 GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies said, "They're mine, all mine. They'll get special treatment when I go into action. I treat them with the same consideration and kindness that parents give the child who honors them.

Lesson: There is a great reward for being faithful. When we are devoted and faithful to God, He considers us His special treasure and possession.

The blessing of being God's sheep is that we can stop struggling when we are sincerely in God's hands because we are eternally protected never to perish, and no one can snatch us from His Hands.
