Stronger Than Stone

Greetings to all. As we begin this week, let us find strength in the persistent, consistent flow of water.

Uncertainty can challenge our hope and make us want to give up. Many of us would rather possess the strength of a rock. Remember, consistency and persistence, like flowing water, can be stronger than rock, even shaping it over time.

Job 14:19 (NCV)

19 Water washes over stones and wears them down, and rushing waters wash away the dirt. In the same way, you destroy hope.

Lesson: Job uses water wearing down stone to describe the destruction of hope. While it is natural to desire the hardiness of a rock, brute strength is not always enough. Let us balance the brute strength of rock with the persistence of flowing water, which can serve us well.
