Staying Awake and Standing Strong

Greetings to all. As we come to the end of another week, let us continue to stay awake and stand.

Staying awake, or 'woke' as it is affectionately known by many, has now come to represent something negative. However, Scripture has always encouraged the church as a physical body to awake and stay awake, standing fast in faith. Because of the challenges of staying awake and standing strong in faith, it takes courage. This encouragement especially resonates with those who lead.

1 Corinthians 16:13–14 (NRSV)

13Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.

14Let all that you do be done in love.

Lesson: I would love to say to everyone who feels like quitting: never let up on the duty of staying awake, because to live victorious Christian lives and to authentically evangelize the world, we must resolve to stay awake and stand strong in the Lord and His work.
