Greetings to all; let us accept that we cannot live without the Gospel, and let us avoid any distractions that try to take our focus off God this Sunday.
Since the beginning of creation, the reality of life has been that our number one goal in life would be to serve God. But because the evil one has introduced sin, we tend to desire the things of the flesh and oppose the things of the spirit of God.
Romans 7:18-20 (GNB)
18 I know that good does not live in me—that is, in my human nature. Even though the desire to do good is in me, I cannot do it.
19 I don't do the good I want to do; instead, I do the evil that I do not want to do.
20 If I do what I don't want to do, I am no longer the one who does it; instead, it is the sin that lives in me.
Lesson: Sin is old, real, and the greatest distraction that keeps us from living the principles of life as God desires. All sin in the eyes of God is equal, and although sin makes for a miserable and messy life, it can be a good word to help us understand our need for God's grace.
