Greetings to all, on this Monday, let us thank God for this new week and the kind people we encounter. May it also bring with it spiritual blessings and much spiritual growth. Amen
There's a saying that says: "Do unto others as they do unto you." With that being said, we all have those people who rub us the wrong way; they are called sandpaper people.
They are sandpaper in the sense that they tend to scratch and rub at other's emotions. Many times, they don't even know their effect on us. Others are not always the sandpaper people; we must strive not to be the one that rubs people the wrong way.
Luke 6:32 (NRSV)
32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Matthew 5:44-46 (NRSV)
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Lesson: Let us not become useless like sandpaper, scratching, and hurting others. As we encounter those who rub us the wrong way, may our spiritual growth increase and our hearts be filled with enough love for all the sandpaper people we encounter.
