Season of Lent: Day 29

Greetings to all. Let us begin this week by choosing humility over power.

How power is used reveals the character of those who have it. In the world's system, power sometimes means striving for greatness, no matter the cost. In God's Kingdom, greatness is determined by our willingness to place humility over power in our service to others.

Mark 10:42–44 (GW)

42 Jesus called the apostles and said, “You know that the acknowledged rulers of nations have absolute power over people, and their officials have absolute authority over people.

43 However, this is not how it shall be among you. Whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant.

44 Whoever desires to be most important among you must become a servant to all.

Lesson: The true measure of greatness and power is made evident by our willingness to serve others with humility, following the example set by Jesus, rather than seeking authority or power.
