Greetings to all, on this "grateful" Thursday, let us humbly come before God with an appreciation for the many blessings that He has given us, and let us ask Him to help us in keeping our eyes and minds focused on the truth of His word. Amen
Even though we live in uncertain times when we don't know what to look forward to from one day to the next day, we still have much to be grateful for because we serve a faithful God.
From Genesis to Revelation, God gives us as His children the assurance that He will keep all His promises to us.
Matthew 6:34 (TLB)
34 "So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT2)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Deuteronomy 7:6-9 (ESV)
6 “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
7 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples,
8 but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,
Lesson: Because of our failures, we sometimes feel that we are not worthy of being called children of God. Thank God it's not what we do that makes us worthy, but because He chooses us.
The word lets us know that not one word of all the promises the Lord made to Israel has failed and have all come to pass (Joshua 21:45).
Today each of us is chosen out of God's goodness and grace to be apart of His cherished prized possession, receiving all of His promises.
