Faith Beyond Duty

Greetings to all. As this week ends, let us focus not on what we have done to stay in line, but on who we believe God to be in our lives.

We often complicate following God by focusing on rules and regulations, whether to stay in line or to cross the line. For those who want to keep their hearts aligned with God, the more important matter is that we trust Him as our provider and believe in His love and mercy.

Hosea 6:6 (NKJV)

6 For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Lesson: When we do not live a pressure-based, performance-based religion, we choose honesty over deceit, and we deepen our trust in God. Our actions naturally flow from a heart that not only believes but also obeys.
