Expect Spiritual Pruning

Greetings to all. As we begin the week, expect some areas of life to be pruned.

In the agricultural world, pruning is the process of cutting away to promote healthier, more vigorous, and stronger growth. Similarly, in much the same way, this principle is reflected in the Christian life as guided by God.

John 15:1–2 (GW)

1Then Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father takes care of the vineyard.

2 He removes every one of my branches that doesn’t produce fruit. He also prunes every branch that produces fruit to make it produce more fruit. 

Lesson: The fruit we bear is the proof of who we are in Christ. Although it can be painful, to bear more spiritual fruit and validate our Christian faith, we can expect spiritual pruning from God to cut away sin that keeps us from abiding in Christ.
