Greetings to all, let us not forget to embrace this "grateful" Thursday with joy and gratefulness for all God has done for us and for all those He surrounds us with who are supportive and inspiring to us, making our lives more meaningful. Amen
On those days when we find ourselves feeling down or feel it's too difficult to give God thanks, let us not forget that God deserves all of our praises. When we love Him and are obedient, He has a history of working all things for our good.
Romans 8:28 (TLB)
28 And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.
Deuteronomy 8:10-14 (MSG)
10 After a meal, satisfied, bless GOD, your God, for the good land he has given you.
11 Make sure you don't forget GOD, your God, by not keeping his commandments, his rules and regulations that I command you today
12 Make sure that when you eat and are satisfied, build pleasant houses and settle in,
13 see your herds and flocks flourish and more and more money come in, watch your standard of living going up and up—
14 make sure you don't become so full of yourself and your things that you forget GOD, your God, the God who delivered you from Egyptian slavery;
Although Israel was given the deeds to the promised land and assured they would live a successful and satisfying life, there were three conditions. They had to listen to God's word; they had to remember it and obey it.
Lesson: These three necessary conditions are still applicable in our pursuit of having a successful and satisfying Christian life today.
If we are going to succeed in our Christian walk, we must have God's guidance, protection, and provision, and it also helps to have the ability to recall what God has done for us.
