Greetings to all, thank God that we have made it to the weekend. Life goes by so quickly, and we must not take anything for granted. Let us thank God for taking care of us, even the smallest details of our lives. Amen
Today is the last day of the month, and many will be celebrating Halloween. Please stay safe and also be reminded of the time falling back one hour for some of us.
Doing these uncertain and spooky times, we must let go of everything that we cannot change. We must not be afraid of submitting to God.
Pumpkins are the central theme during this season. We often search to find the perfect pumpkins to decorate or carve. The search for the ideal pumpkin reminds me of how God searches for us, picks us out of the world, and then fill us with everything needed to allow the light of His glory to shine through us.
Ezekiel 11:19-21 (HCSB)
19 And I will give them one heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone from their bodies and give them a heart of flesh,
20 so they may follow My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.
21 But as for those whose hearts pursue their desire for detestable things and practices, I will bring their actions down on their own heads." ⌊This is⌋ the declaration of the Lord GOD.
I always look forward to sharing a unique and simple lesson with my super church class. The lesson is how "being a Christian is like being a pumpkin." It is so straightforward and so mirrors the truth of God's word of how God uses His power to restore us; that I have also shared it with our women's ministry.
Jeremiah 32:39-40 (KJV)
39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Lesson: We sometimes have a hard time dealing with the yucky and inner messiness in our lives, causing us to become stubborn and hard-hearted.
We have nothing to fear; throughout time, God continues to prove that He has no problem dealing with our issues.
He searches for the stubborn hearts of stones and reaches deep within us so that He can remove them and replace them with tender and compassionate ones.
