Greetings to all, on this "grateful" Ascension Thursday, let us thank God for Jesus and not forget what He has done for us. May we continue to do the work Jesus started before leaving earth. May we be His faithful witnesses, as he instructed, by spreading the Good News. Amen
Jesus had always told the Disciples that He would be with them for a short time because He would be returning back to the one who sent Him.
John 7:33 (NIV)
33 Jesus said, "I am with you for only a short time, and then I go to the one who sent me.
Acts 1:9-11 (TLB)
9 It was not long afterwards that he rose into the sky and disappeared into a cloud, leaving them staring after him.
10 As they were straining their eyes for another glimpse, suddenly two white-robed men were standing there among them,
11 and said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has gone away to heaven, and some day, just as he went, he will return!"
Our risen Savior ascended back to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and we know that He is interceding on our behalf.
Lesson: On this day, we pause to honor Jesus, remember, acknowledge, and praise Him for all He has done for us. His ascension into heaven gives us hope for the future to one day be where He is.
