Better Than Sacrifice

Greetings to all; this weekend, I pray that each of us can rest knowing that we did not compromise our obedience to God.

Our desire to give and do good work is essential and should be our desire. However, obedience to God's word is the thing that draws us closer to God, not the stuff we give or when we are generous with others.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NCV)

22 But Samuel answered, "What pleases the LORD more: burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience to his voice? It is better to obey than to sacrifice. It is better to listen to God than to offer the fat of sheep.

Lesson: There is no denying that, at times, being obedient to rules or to what is expected of us can be challenging. Regarding what God desires from us, obedience is better than sacrifice.
