Greetings to all, we have made it halfway through another week. It is my prayer that each of us will continue to stand firm on this "hump" day Wednesday. I pray the Lord will take away all our worries, sicknesses, addictions, and sadness. May we be anchored in God's word and prayer no matter what we face. Amen
There has been a lot of talk in the last two weeks about the two storms that we were expecting to come ashore and hit the Gulf Coast. Marco has downgraded to a tropical depression and is no longer posing a threat; however, Laura is expected to hit Thursday morning.
The prediction of these storms serves as a reminder; storms will happen in our lives and that we should always be prepared.
While it's a rare thing for two storms to come at the same time, How similar it is to our life's storms, there's no limit to how many, they come out of nowhere, usually unexpected, life-altering and often halting our plans.
Whether we find ourselves living through a pandemic, distressed, or troubled by our storms of life, we can always turn to God for comfort and help.
Matthew 14:22-27 (NLT2)
22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home.
23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.
24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
25 About three o'clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, "It's a ghost!"
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. "Don't be afraid," he said. "Take courage. I am here!"
Lesson: There is to be no doubt that storms will come in our lives. They will either be physical, emotional, spiritual, or all. To survive, we must be anchored in God by His word and prayer.
At any given time, each of us can find ourselves in a storm, coming out of a storm, or getting ready to enter a storm.
All who are currently being affected by storms, know that God has the power to see us through and that storms don't last forever; they only pass-through.
