A Seat At The Table

Greetings to all, let us thank God for this "Grateful" Thanksgiving. May this indeed be a day of Thanksgiving for all the answered prayers, for all we have, and for who we have. Amen

Today is Thanksgiving, and for most of us, this is when families and friends come together for large and long meals. However, because of the COVID Pandemic, health officials are encouraging Americans to forego traveling or gathering with others outside of the home.

Many are missing their loved ones or have had loved ones taken by COVID. Many are confused with conflicting guidance and being COVID fatigued and have made excuses to gather and travel. They are disregarding the plea to stay home.

Although we may not be able to be at Grandma's table or the table of choice this year on Thanksgiving, each of us is privileged and has a daily, open, and standing invitation to have a seat at the Lord's table.

At the Lord's table, we will be served all that we need. What are you looking to be filled with today?

Many of us are looking for peace, happiness, and fellowship, or health and healing. Whatever we are desiring can be found in Christ. And what we don't need for ourselves, we can take for others.

Luke 14:15-24 (NLT2)

15 Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, "What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!"

16 Jesus replied with this story: "A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations.

17 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, 'Come, the banquet is ready.'

18 But they all began making excuses. One said, 'I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.'

19 Another said, 'I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.'

20 Another said, 'I now have a wife, so I can't come.'

21 "The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, 'Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'

22 After the servant had done this, he reported, 'There is still room for more.'

23 So his master said, 'Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.

24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.'"

Lesson: Because God's plan is not yet completed, the invitation still stands.

There is room at the Lord's table for many more. May God Bless You! Have a safe, happy, and fulfilling Thanksgiving!
