Greetings to all, let us thank God for another blessed Sunday. As we worship today, may our praises and God's word lift us up, and may our lives be renewed by the Holy Spirit that is within each of us. Amen
There is a truth about every situation we face in life, and we must each fight to live each day. We must live the life we profess, and we should be proclaiming who God is and declaring what he has done for everyone through his Son, Jesus Christ.
With so many deaths every day, let us thank God for the miracle of life. In John 10: 10b, Jesus lets us know that He came so that we can experience life and have it more abundantly here on earth. And in 1 John 2:25, Jesus promises us eternal life in heaven.
Even though life in these temporary bodies today seems so challenging and uncertain, we don't have to despair because God is in control.
2 Corinthians 5:1-5 (NCV)
1 We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a house for us. It will not be a house made by human hands; instead, it will be a home in heaven that will last forever.
2 But now we groan in this tent. We want God to give us our heavenly home,
3 because it will clothe us so we will not be naked.
4 While we live in this body, we have burdens, and we groan. We do not want to be naked, but we want to be clothed with our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be fully covered with life.
5 This is what God made us for, and he has given us the Spirit to be a guarantee for this new life.
Haggai 2:6-9 (GW)
6 "This is what the LORD of Armies says: Once again, in a little while, I am going to shake the sky and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
7 I will shake all the nations and the one whom all the nations desire will come. Then I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Armies.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD of Armies.
9 This new house will be more glorious than the former, declares the LORD of Armies. And in this place I will give {them} peace, declares the LORD of Armies."
Lesson: Each of us is called to live for God and to allow Him to live through us. We must focus our praise on Him and not on our places of worship.
We are reminded that our lives in these imperfect earthly bodies are temporary, like tents, and we are not to be comfortable remaining in them.
As God's people, we are destined for much more. We are destined for permanent heavenly bodies and to dwell with God.
