Separate Yourselves

Greetings to all. As we end this week, take a moment to think about the people we may have needed to step away from.

Standing alone takes courage, and we are usually judged by the company we keep. Often, we are drawn to people for many reasons, mostly those who make us feel accepted, even when we know we shouldn’t stay close to them. Separating is never easy. No one should stay in a place or with people who are not good for them.
2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV)
17 Therefore, “Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”
Lesson: When feeling led to create distance with others, do it with kindness. God loves everyone and does not advocate division from a place of hatred. We do not need to change who we are just to fit in. It’s ok to be different, especially if staying would pull us away from God, leading us into sin.
