Behind the Smiles and the Kind Words

Greetings to all. Let us be loving but also be discerning about who we let close to us.

A close friend is a blessing, but losing a friendship can hurt. Sometimes, people may turn against you when you are struggling or even when things are going well. Some are only around to get what they can. Behind the smiles and the kind words, they bring you down, not to lift you up.

Psalm 41:9 (NCV)

9 My best and truest friend, who ate at my table, has even turned against me.

Lesson: Although we can never know the heart of those who might betray us, we must be wise and discerning in our relationships to avoid getting hurt. Do not allow the pain of betrayal to take away your joy or your ability to love others. And let's make sure we are never the kind of friend who betrays someone's trust.
