Be Like the Bamboo

Greetings to all; this Sunday, let us prayerfully and joyfully exalt the name of the Lord by yielding to God’s Word and authority.

There are many ways to express our loyalty and thanks to the Lord. Let us be like the bamboo. The deeper it grows, the lower it bows. The bamboo’s bending is a striking and humble image, representing a godly character we should emulate.

Psalm 138:2 (ESV)

2 I bow down toward your holy temple and thank your name for your steadfast love and faithfulness, for you have exalted your name and word above all things.

Lesson: As we follow Christ, we grow in humility when depending on God’s Word and authority. In our humility, we praise and revere the Lord.
